James Y. Wang, MD, FAAD

Dr. James Y. Wang is a Harvard and UCLA-trained board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist at Mosaic Dermatology in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, California. He focuses on medical and cosmetic dermatology with an added specialty in the microscopic interpretation of skin cancers such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma.
Dr. Wang has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in dermatology and dermatopathology journals as well as several textbook chapters, including his most recent on the clinical uses of botulinum toxin (Botox) in dermatology. He speaks at community lectures as well as at national and international conferences. During his training, he received an international grant from the American Academy of Dermatology to run an infectious disease and complex medical dermatology clinic in Gabarone, Botswana.
Raised in Rochester, New York, Dr. Wang earned his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School and his M.B.A. in Management and Healthcare Policy from Harvard Business School. From Boston, he came to southern California to complete his dermatology training at UCLA. His interest in the microscopic diagnosis of skin cancers led him to complete a competitive clinical fellowship in dermatopathology at the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and NY-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City’s upper east side.
In addition to his current practice of clinical dermatology and dermatopathology, Dr. Wang serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CureBiotech Inc., a biotechnology and therapeutics company founded at the University of Pennsylvania that develops ground-breaking novel treatments for melanoma and other cancers, vitiligo, psoriasis, and hair loss.
