What Are Herpes?
Cold sores or sometimes known as fever blisters are fluid filled blisters on and around the lip area. Cold sores are caused by a herpes simplex virus and can be spread from person to person by close contact like kissing. The cold sore blisters usually form in patches and then will break, and a crust will cover the sore. The healing process usually takes anywhere from one to four weeks depending on your skin and can sometimes result in scars.
Cold sores appear as a result of a cold or illness, a fever, stress, too much sun, or changes in hormones. There are many different methods when it comes to herpes treatment. Herpes reatments include icing the blister, pain relivers, over the counter creams, aloe vera gel, essential oils, and prescription medications. Herpes treatment can be tedious, but not difficult when using at home methods or over the counter medications.
